Anaspec Solutions and Oxford Instruments have introduced at this event the new Pulsar NMR, the benchtop NMR for SFC analysis. The location was in Het Pand in Ghent, Belgium. This event was organised bij SCI’s Lipids Group in Collaboration with Ghent University and EFL Physical Properties Division.

Impression of the event

The conference covered the developments in the analysis and characterisation of the major components of lipids, oils and fats, such as fatty acids and triglycerides, and minor components such as sterols, and the advances in the tools used to generate and interpret whole lipid profiles e.g. lipidomics. The recent developments in the detection of contaminants of oils & fats, such as 3-MCPD esters and Glycidyl esters, will also be presented. Internationally recognised experts will present information on the techniques used to analyse components that are of interest to the lipids, oils & fats industry, food manufacturers & producers and researchers in this field.

Anaspec Solutions presented both the NMR instrumentation from Oxford and the FT_NIR applications in this field. Anaspec Solutions has also partnerships  with primairy laboratories in the analysis of oils & fats. With 15 years of experience in oils & fats analysis and an installed base of more than 25 Lipid Quants FT_NIR spectrometers in the Benelux area we show a major contribution to this event.

At the end of the event we had a tour at the university of Ghent. We have been in the chocolate lab where we have explained the Oxford NMR to the people and were we have tasted the well-known belgian chocolate.
